Setting off from HK international Airport to Beijing, and walking/shopping in Wang Jing Fu, a tourist shopping district:
Our very wonderful 5 star hotel (with damn cool hot-spring sauna facilities), made our whole package tour more than worth it. and tian-an-men square. that day was about to rain, so the weather was quite misty.
yi-he-yuan. the royal garden for the emperor. a place where the royal family relax and hol away...talk about luxury.. hahaa
Due to feng shui, they built a man-made mountain (located behind the forbidden city, acts as a "backing" for the palace) and the place where they dug out the soil from became a hugeeeeeeeeeee lake in yi-he-yuan.
And our tour guide told us many stories about emporer ci-xi and the like.. it was really interesting. will find out more about china history when i have the time.
Tian-tan. yet another royal facility for the emperor. this time, its a royal alter just for the emperor to have ritual and pray for the well-being of the country and all...
still waiting for my couz to send me the rest, like great wall, etc...
Needa get packed for Penang... ( to think that I've just finished UNPACKING 2 days ago)
